Tradebe Implements PlantPAx to Control Barcelona Hydrocarbon Terminal

Tradebe, a leading industrial waste management company, needed an open, scalable, and secure process control solution for its new hydrocarbon terminal near Barcelona. To meet the site’s control, safety, and integration requirements across two connected lots, Tradebe worked with Rockwell Automation and its system integrator SURIS, using PlantPAx to support the terminal’s complex operations.

Rockwell Automation implemented a PlantPAx distributed control system with EtherNet/IP, virtualized servers, integrated safety, and ERP connectivity. The solution delivered a scalable, flexible system that met SIL 2 requirements, simplified integration with third-party terminal and safety systems, and improved data flow to corporate systems. According to the case study, this reduced operational complexity and costs while making plant management easier and more efficient.
