Online Wellness Retailer iHerb Doubles Throughput Capacity

iHerb, an online wellness retailer, needed to expand its order-fulfillment operations to keep up with rising demand and build a new East Coast facility. The company wanted a faster, more automated alternative to its labor-intensive batch-picking process, and worked with Rockwell Automation to support the new Hebron, Kentucky site.

Rockwell Automation implemented a pick-to-order and material-handling solution using Allen-Bradley ControlLogix controllers, FactoryTalk View HMI software, and POINT I/O racks. The new system doubled capacity to 15,000–20,000 orders per shift, improved labor efficiency by 300 percent, and enabled orders to move through the facility in as little as 15 minutes, while maintaining about 99 percent accuracy.
