OEM Newlands Systems Optimizes Brewing Solution Development

Newlands Systems, an OEM brewery equipment supplier, needed to streamline development and speed time-to-market for highly customized craft brewing systems while maintaining repeatable quality and meeting on-time, on-budget expectations. To address this challenge, Newlands teamed with Rockwell Automation and adopted its craft brewing application based on the PlantPAx distributed control system, along with CompactLogix controllers, PowerFlex AC drives, and Stratix Ethernet/wireless networking.

Rockwell Automation implemented a modular, scalable control and visualization platform that reduced system complexity and development time across Newlands’ wide range of brewery sizes and configurations. The Ethernet-connected solution also enabled remote monitoring as an aftermarket service, with future plans to add Endress+Hauser instrumentation for improved equipment health tracking and preventive maintenance.
