EMI Solution Gives GrafTech Insight into Steelmaking

GrafTech, a major manufacturer of graphite electrodes for electric arc furnaces, needed better real-time operational visibility for its ArchiTech™ furnace productivity system. The company wanted to improve reporting and troubleshooting for customers, but faced concerns about data access, server downtime, security, and scalability.

GrafTech partnered with Rockwell Automation to add FactoryTalk® VantagePoint® EMI software to ArchiTech, using cloud-based virtual servers, managed backups, and 24-hour monitoring. Rockwell Automation’s solution improved trending, dashboards, and real-time reporting, helping reduce downtime and maintenance costs; GrafTech reported estimated annual savings ranging from $100,000 to over $1 million, along with better data collection, compliance support, and productivity.
