A Rockwell Automation Case Study
Wilmar International Limited faced production delays at its new chemical plant in the Netherlands because a critical compressor could not start at full pressure due to limited grid power. The issue affected hydrogenation and downstream processing, and Wilmar turned to Rockwell Automation for help, using an Allen-Bradley PowerFlex® 7000 medium-voltage drive solution.
Rockwell Automation implemented the PowerFlex® 7000 Active Front End Direct-to-Drive™ medium-voltage inverter, along with project coordination and engineering support from design through commissioning. The result was that Wilmar could start the compressor at the required 38 bar(g) without tripping, improving productivity and enabling future bypass functionality for easier maintenance, reduced inrush current, and potential energy savings.
