Bakery OEM Enters New Market with Streamlined Design

AMF Bakery Systems, a bakery equipment OEM, wanted to enter a new market with a sanitary dough mixer that could deliver high efficiency, versatility, and strong safety and sanitation features. Working with Rockwell Automation and its control and drive products, AMF needed a way to simplify a new machine design while meeting stricter operational requirements.

Rockwell Automation supplied an Allen-Bradley Micro850 controller, PowerFlex 525 AC drives, a Guardmaster 440C-CR30 safety relay, and Connected Components Workbench software to build a fully integrated control system. The solution streamlined development, simplified safety design, and improved mixing efficiency by about 30% in an initial installation, while also reducing sanitation time and supporting faster recipe-based changeovers.
