Case Study: FANUC achieves faster, safer powertrain automation with Rockwell Automation

A Rockwell Automation Case Study

Preview of the Fanuc Case Study

Automation Control for Powertrain Applications

Fanuc faced growing complexity in powertrain manufacturing as stricter fuel economy and emissions standards demanded more flexible, safer, and more data-driven production systems. To meet these needs, Fanuc looked to Rockwell Automation and its integrated automation approach, including CNC, robot, and PAC connectivity for machining cells.

Rockwell Automation implemented a pre-engineered solution that linked FANUC CNCs and robots to Rockwell Automation cell controllers over a single EtherNet/IP network, using Studio 5000 software and FactoryTalk AssetCentre for configuration management and diagnostics. The result was reduced start-up and engineering time, lower integration cost, improved safety and part quality, and better manufacturing intelligence, with easier data transfer to enterprise IT systems and simpler troubleshooting across the cell.
