Case Study: Governors Island increases ticketing efficiency with RocketRez

A RocketRez Case Study

Preview of the Governors Island Case Study

Increased sales efficiency after implementing RocketRez

Governors Island, a 172-acre public park and visitor destination in New York Harbor, needed to improve the efficiency of its ferry ticketing process as visitor traffic grew to roughly 2,000 people on weekdays and up to 20,000 on weekends. Before RocketRez, ticketing was manual and limited to handheld devices at the boat, creating bottlenecks, reducing flexibility, and raising concerns about maintaining an inclusive buying experience during COVID-19.

RocketRez implemented an all-in-one cloud ticketing platform that enabled Governors Island to sell tickets online, by phone, at POS, and through self-serve kiosks, while also supporting real-time capacity rules and a custom cash-payment option. The result was greater sales efficiency, improved staff productivity, and better visibility across the business, with ticket agents freed up for customer service instead of late-night selling. RocketRez also helped the team align hardware and kiosk setup to support their goals and visitor access needs.
