TechMeetsTrader, a San Diego startup building the “Facebook of stocks,” set out to cure “Lone Wolf” syndrome by creating a social network where investors can discuss trades, join interest groups, and learn from each other. To power that community experience they adopted Rocket.Chat’s open source chat platform (compatible with their React/Node.js, MongoDB & Neo4j stack) to deliver real-time channels, direct messages and group collaboration.

Rocket.Chat provided the core chat and groups functionality and a community-driven codebase that allowed TechMeetsTrader to quickly enable integrations (for example, opening channels for bots and Giphy via community PRs). The tight tech-stack compatibility made integration straightforward, groups became the hub for collaboration, and the platform successfully launched on January 17, 2017 — delivering a live, collaborative trading community powered by Rocket.Chat.
