TW Metals Boosts Transaction Processing and Employee Productivity

TW Metals, a manufacturer and specialty metals distributor, needed to speed up transaction processing and make key account information easier for customers to access. Its IBM i–based inventory management system and direct sales portal were central to daily operations, but the green-screen interface slowed employees and made it harder to onboard new staff. TW Metals turned to Rocket Software, using Rocket® LegaSuite Web UI and later Rocket® API to modernize these legacy systems.

Rocket Software helped TW Metals transform its 5250 applications into modern web, mobile, and tablet experiences, while also exposing host systems as reusable SOAP and REST services. The result was faster transaction processing for more than 600 employees, a more elegant customer experience, and training time for new employees cut by more than 50%. Rocket Software also helped reduce the buyouts process from more than four screens to one, improving efficiency and customer satisfaction.
