Not-For-Profit Health Insurance Provider, a U.S.-based not-for-profit institution serving more than 3.5 million members, needed to reduce costs and improve the efficiency of its mainframe access and system backup processes. Its manual backup workflow was time-consuming, error-prone, and difficult to track, while its existing terminal emulator did not meet its needs for Telnet, VT, and FTP support.

Rocket Software implemented Rocket OpenTech products, including Rocket DASD Backup Supervisor and Tape/Copy, to automate backups, simplify adding new data volumes, and improve reporting and tape tracking. Rocket Software also replaced the provider’s terminal emulator with Rocket BlueZone Terminal Emulation, which was easier to install and manage and lowered administrative overhead. The result was a more organized, error-free backup process, reduced IT burden, and improved productivity, freeing staff to focus on strategic work.
