KKH Statutory Health Insurance Fund Enhances Staff Productivity & Minimizes Risks with Fast, Simple Db2 Cloning

KKH Statutory Health Insurance Fund, one of Germany’s largest health insurers, needed a faster, less risky way to copy sensitive Db2 data from production to a pre-production system for quarterly load and volume testing. Its manual snapshot-based cloning process was time-consuming, required deep Db2 expertise, and caused downtime that delayed testing and increased operational burden. KKH turned to Rocket Software, using Rocket Mainstar Volume Clone and Rename (VCR) for Db2 and Rocket Mainstar FTR.

Rocket Software implemented a standardized cloning solution that automated jobs and simplified the restore process. As a result, KKH cut cloning effort from 64 to 24 man-hours per quarter, saving 40 man-hours, and made the test system available three days earlier for testing. The process became faster, simpler, and more reliable, reducing availability risk and improving staff productivity.
