Eurotunnel Le Shuttle Created new business opportunities and increased revenue

Eurotunnel Le Shuttle, part of the Getlink Group, needed to modernize its aging MultiValue-based reservation system after a PwC audit flagged it as potentially obsolete and costly to maintain. The company also wanted to unlock new revenue opportunities by pricing passenger travel based on vehicle size and identifying accessories such as roof boxes and bicycles.

Rocket Software helped Eurotunnel Le Shuttle modernize the platform using Rocket MultiValue Integration Server (MVIS), Rocket UniVerse, Python, and REST APIs, allowing the existing reservation system to work alongside newer technologies with less risk and lower cost than a full replacement. The new kiosk and check-in architecture delivered major performance gains, with average POST response times of 0.2 to 0.3 seconds, GET reads under 0.2 seconds, and successful load testing at up to 100 concurrent users and about 15 requests per second.
