Large U.S.-Based Institution, a major state college and university system, was struggling to balance decades-old COBOL and Java core applications with newer digital learning tools. This hybrid environment created IT complexity, high maintenance demands, and an inconsistent experience for students, faculty, and staff. Rocket Software’s Rocket Uniface Application Development Platform helped the institution integrate these old and new systems without disrupting essential functions.

Rocket Software implemented Rocket Uniface to build low-code integration pathways between core applications, an Oracle database, and web-based tools. The result was a more unified and stable environment that reduced IT maintenance burden and modernized the user experience for more than 450,000 users. The platform now supports over 2,000 components and 1,400 tables, while handling hundreds of transactions per minute and more than 1,500 concurrent user requests.
