A Rochford Capital Case Study
Global Chemicals Manufacturer, a subsidiary of a global chemicals and mining equipment manufacturer, needed to stand up a new treasury function after a private equity acquisition while all treasury personnel stayed with the parent company. The CFO and Financial Controller lacked the time and direct experience to build the required processes, and operating across 17 countries with fragmented procedures created high key-man risk. Rochford Capital was brought in to help design and manage the new treasury processes, banking facilities, Treasury Management System infrastructure, and cash management needs.
Rochford Capital built and implemented a global cash flow forecasting model and weekly reporting process for the CFO, coordinated with banks to ensure Day 1 collateralisation of global facilities, and actively managed cash and liquidity before transitioning day-to-day operations to full-time staff. As a result, Global Chemicals Manufacturer had a fully functioning treasury from Day 1 with clear visibility and communication across finance teams and banking partners, and treasury operations enabled a debt refinancing 12 months ahead of schedule plus a 20% reduction in principal debt.
