A Robotmaster Case Study
Weber Aircraft, a leading manufacturer of commercial aircraft seats, faced significant pressure to reduce costs while increasing production capacity for plastic food trays. Their existing 5-axis routing machine was at full capacity, and purchasing another was not a cost-effective solution. They sought a new, efficient manufacturing method and enlisted the help of ARRI, who brought in Robotmaster software to address the challenge of offline robot programming.
The solution implemented by ARRI used a Staubli robot programmed with Robotmaster. This allowed Weber to program the robot offline using CAD data, just like their CNC machines, which drastically reduced programming time. The results were substantial: the new robotic cell improved cut quality and precision, reduced the cell's footprint by over 65%, and decreased cycle time by 23%. Due to this success, Weber added a second robot cell and more seats of Robotmaster software.
