Case Study: Weber Aircraft achieves faster, higher-quality tray routing with Robotmaster

A Robotmaster Case Study

Robot software is first class for weber aircraft

Weber Aircraft, a leading manufacturer of commercial aircraft seats, needed a more effective way to increase production capacity for plastic food trays used in its seat assemblies. Its existing 5-axis routing machine was at full capacity, and the company wanted a solution that fit its lean manufacturing approach while allowing CAD data to be converted directly into robot-ready programs. Weber turned to Robotmaster CAD/CAM for robots as part of a robotic routing cell concept developed with ARRI.

Robotmaster helped Weber and ARRI implement an offline-programmed Staubli robot routing cell that could generate, simulate, and revise robot code quickly and in a CNC-like workflow. The new system improved cut quality and precision, reduced the routing cell footprint by more than 65%, cut cycle time by 23%, and simplified operator handling while improving safety and cleanliness. Weber later added a second robot cell and additional Robotmaster seats to expand the benefits across its product line.
