CAD/CAM based robot programming for milling undefined by using robots

Armatec Survivability Corporation, a London, Ontario-based manufacturer, needed a faster, more accurate way to program its six-axis robots for production and prototype part machining. Before adopting Robotmaster, the team relied on manual teach methods, which were time-consuming, error-prone, and required repeated iterations to get parts closer to nominal dimensions.

Robotmaster provided Armatec with off-line CAD/CAM-based robot programming and simulation, allowing programs to be created directly from solid CAD models and tested before running on the machine. With Robotmaster, Armatec’s CNC programmer reported saving hours each day and cutting robot programming time by roughly half, while also improving confidence in part accuracy and reducing trial-and-error setup work.
