Case Study: Tweendykes achieves effective remote learning with RM Education and Microsoft Teams

A RM Education Case Study

Preview of the Tweendykes Case Study

The importance of Remote Learning for a community special school – at Tweendykes in Hull – using Microsoft Teams

Tweendykes, a community special school in Hull supporting 160 pupils with severe learning difficulties and physical disabilities, was already beginning to move some services into the cloud when the COVID-19 school closures were announced. The school needed a fast way to support remote learning and keep staff, pupils, and parents connected, and RM Education was already providing complete IT support through its Flexible Managed Service Primary Flex contract.

RM Education helped Tweendykes quickly expand its use of Microsoft Teams, working with the school’s local engineer to resolve technical issues, set up passwords and restrictions, and get staff up and running. The school used Teams for meetings and home learning, and staff found it easier to collaborate and share information. As a result, Tweendykes remained open supporting up to 90 pupils each week, and the school expects to continue using Microsoft Teams and online platforms going forward.
