Preparing and implementing Remote Learning via MS Teams in an independent school in North Yorkshire – Giggleswick

Giggleswick School, an independent boarding and day school in North Yorkshire, was already moving to cloud-based working and Microsoft 365 when the COVID-19 shutdown forced it to close with little notice. With staff and students equipped with one-to-one devices, Azure AD, SharePoint and MS Teams already in place, the school needed to shift quickly to full remote learning and maintain teaching, pastoral care and communication off site.

RM Education supported Giggleswick School through remote infrastructure management and help with device access, while the school used MS Teams, Office 365, OneNote, SharePoint and Microsoft Stream to deliver virtual lessons, CPD, clubs and house activities. The result was a largely seamless move to a fully virtual school with continued learning and strong staff upskilling, improved communication, and better uptime; the school also reported that cloud-based working made the transition much more manageable.
