Case Study: ICAEW advances ACA assessment with RM Education

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) needed to move its ACA Professional and Advanced exams from paper-based to computer-based delivery while keeping the assessment structure consistent and ensuring candidates were not disadvantaged by the transition. RM Education supported the shift with its e-marking expertise and RM Assessor, alongside a computer-based testing partner solution.

RM Education integrated e-testing software with RM Assessor and built an integration engine so exam components could communicate seamlessly, while also supporting complex question types using spreadsheets and word documents. The result was a stable end-to-end digital assessment process that now marks all but one ACA exam on screen, covers around 40,000 assessments per year, and is moving ICAEW toward 100% provision.
