Case Study: Duncanrig Secondary School empowers pupils and streamlines tech support with RM Education

A RM Education Case Study

Preview of the Duncanrig Secondary School Case Study

How a visionary secondary school in South Lanarkshire put their young people at the heart of their technology roadmap

Duncanrig Secondary School, a 1,700-pupil comprehensive in South Lanarkshire, wanted to put young people at the centre of its technology strategy while also improving day-to-day ICT support. Working within South Lanarkshire Council’s managed ICT service from RM Education, the school looked for a way to build pupils’ skills, reduce support pressure on staff, and make technology more effective across lessons and school life.

RM Education’s managed ICT service provided the reliable hardware, software and connectivity foundation that made this possible, while Duncanrig introduced its Computing Pupil Ambassadors Scheme to troubleshoot issues, log tickets, and support staff with setups and events. The result was a highly engaged pupil-led support model, stronger digital confidence and leadership skills, and a school that was better prepared for remote learning during the pandemic; the impact was significant enough to help Duncanrig win a Digital Schools Award Scotland.
