Case Study: St Jude’s Church of England Junior School achieves better remote learning with RM Education and Microsoft Teams

How a small Junior School in Surrey benefitted from the Government scheme to deliver high quality online learning for their pupils

St Jude’s Church of England Junior School in Surrey had already worked with RM Education for over 13 years on services including RM Unify, broadband and connectivity, but when the Covid-19 lockdown began, it still relied on on-premise servers and had not yet prepared for remote learning. The school needed a way to support pupils at home more consistently and to give staff a shared platform for teaching, sharing work and feedback.

RM Education helped St Jude’s apply for the Department for Education’s fully funded digital education scheme and implement Microsoft Teams as the school’s online learning platform. With RM Education’s support, staff quickly adopted the system, remote teaching became more effective, parental feedback was positive, and pupils’ work quality improved; the school also gained confidence to keep using the technology for homework and for children unable to attend school, with a longer-term move toward the cloud.
