Case Study: Sarah Bonnell School achieves digital learning and remote teaching success with RM Education

How a Secondary School in East London is building a reputation for equipping its students with a level of digital literacy that is second to none

Sarah Bonnell School, an 11-16 girls’ secondary school in East London, wanted to build stronger digital literacy, simplify disorganised file storage, reduce workload for staff, and better support teaching and learning across a diverse student body. Working with RM Education, the school began adopting Google cloud-based products, including Google Classroom, Google Meet, Gmail and Google Calendar, as part of a wider move to modernise its technology environment.

RM Education helped the school roll out the change step by step, supported by training, communication, new file structures and upgraded hardware, including Chromebooks for classes and eventually one for every student. The result was a fully embedded blended-learning model, faster collaboration, less email traffic and smoother remote teaching during lockdown; by January 2021, most teaching was live on the same timetable as in school, with many lessons attracting 100+ students and the school using technology to cut printing and photocopying costs while improving digital literacy.
