Case Study: Sutton School achieves 80-90% cloud-based IT and reduced carbon footprint with RM Education

A RM Education Case Study

Preview of the Sutton School Case Study

How a proactive special school in the West Midlands responded to the pandemic by moving 80-90% of their IT systems to the cloud… reducing their carbon footprint at the same time

Sutton School, a special school in Dudley serving around 180 pupils aged 11 to 16, was already beginning a move to cloud-based working when the COVID-19 lockdown accelerated the need for change. With RM Education as its long-term IT service partner, the school needed to keep teaching, communication and administration running for staff and vulnerable pupils while everyone was working in new and more remote ways.

RM Education helped Sutton School move 80–90% of its IT systems to the cloud, including Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, OneDrive and SharePoint, supported by training, troubleshooting and remote guidance. The result was a one-to-one device model for students and teachers, stronger collaboration, a more paperless workflow and a reduced carbon footprint, while giving pupils fast, reliable access to learning both at school and at home.
