Case Study: Ellen Wilkinson Primary School achieves cloud-enabled collaboration with RM Education

How a multi-cultural Primary School in East London took the pandemic in its stride, using it as the catalyst to move to a cloud-enabled school where collaboration sits at the heart of everything they now do

Ellen Wilkinson Primary School in East London needed to modernise its dated, unreliable infrastructure and poor Wi‑Fi, while also finding a better way to support a diverse school community through the disruption of the pandemic. Working with RM Education, the school set out to move toward a cloud-based model using Google Classroom and related tools to improve collaboration, reduce security risks, and make systems easier to manage.

RM Education helped the school roll out Google Classroom across staff, pupils, and key admin processes, supported by RM Unify for single sign-on and training tailored to the school’s needs. The result was a faster, more collaborative way of working: weekly briefings, behaviour and absence forms, parent updates, and learning activities all moved online, while Google Translate and Zoom supported communication and remote learning. Within ten weeks, three-quarters of a class were using Google Classroom regularly, and the school says it would not go back.
