How a large Primary School in the West Midlands used the Government-funded Remote Learning platform to enhance their technology offer by extending teaching to all

Crocketts Community Primary School in Smethwick, West Midlands, worked with RM to extend its existing technology setup when the COVID-19 lockdown suddenly forced schools to close. The school already used RM Unify, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive for staff, but had not yet rolled out remote learning for pupils because of safeguarding and implementation concerns.

RM helped the school quickly implement a government-funded remote learning platform built around RM Unify, with Microsoft Teams linked to the school’s MIS and classes synchronized for pupils and teachers. The school moved to live remote teaching, provided netbooks for families without devices, and supported parents through drop-in workshops, enabling access to learning for all pupils and creating a foundation for blended learning going forward.
