Case Study: Hildenborough Church of England Primary School delivers remote learning with RM Education and Microsoft Teams

Accessing the DfE fullyfunded scheme to deliver Remote Learning for pupils via Microsoft Teams within a small Primary School in rural Kent

Hildenborough Church of England Primary School, a small rural primary school in Kent, needed a fast way to provide remote learning when pupils could no longer attend school during the COVID-19 lockdown. Initially, the school relied on email, paper worksheets, and an early-years tool that was not fit for purpose, while many staff lacked suitable devices and confidence with the technology. RM Education supported the school through the DfE-funded scheme, helping them move to Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams for remote learning.

RM Education provided implementation support, guidance materials, and patient troubleshooting to get the school live on a Microsoft for Education remote learning platform with RM Unify. The school quickly learned how to use Teams more effectively, improved online safeguarding, shared files on OneDrive, ran staff meetings and governor communications, and discovered tools such as Microsoft Streams and Forms. The result was a much more capable digital setup that the school plans to keep expanding, with better collaboration for staff and pupils and stronger preparation for future learning.
