Harvard Business Publishing Uses Open Source ECM to Transform into a Digital Media Enterprise

Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) needed a more flexible way to manage and reuse content across its publishing divisions, since content was trapped in a proprietary ECM system and scattered across shared drives. To support its shift toward digital publishing, HBP turned to Rivet Logic and Alfresco-based enterprise content management to unlock content for business users.

Rivet Logic implemented an Alfresco ECM solution with a custom browser-based interface, rich content model, and integrations to HBP’s taxonomy, ERP, workflow, blog, and legacy systems. The result was centralized, searchable access to content across the enterprise, faster repurposing and publishing of digital products, improved rights management, and lower costs through open source software with no licensing fees or vendor lock-in.
