A Rivery Case Study
River Island, a leading UK high street retailer, was struggling to unify data spread across spreadsheets, S3 buckets, and multiple marketing and retail systems. With a small data team supporting 14 departments and around 30 teams, the company needed a better way to ELT, orchestrate, and share data across the organization, while also speeding up pipelines to Snowflake. Rivery’s DataOps platform was used to address these challenges.
Using Rivery, River Island implemented custom REST API connections, multiple environments, and a data mesh approach so each department could own and manage its own “data product.” The result was a dramatic improvement in time to value, with pipeline setup reduced from weeks or months to about 3 hours, and an estimated £100K saved on a single project using Rivery’s out-of-the-box Google Ads connector. Rivery also enabled 14 departments and 30 teams to become self-sufficient with their own data workflows.
