A Riverbed Case Study
Travis Perkins plc, the UK’s largest supplier of building and home improvement materials with over 2,000 sites and 28,000 employees, embarked on a digital strategy to improve internal efficiency and customer service. The business needed consistent, high-quality IT and application performance across its 23 operating companies and many branches, but its monitoring was fragmented and lacked visibility into internet-delivered and SaaS applications—leaving user experience issues undetected and risking lost productivity and revenue.
After a proof of concept, Travis Perkins deployed Riverbed SteelCentral Aternity for end-user experience monitoring, giving real-time dashboards, baselines and unified visibility across users, devices, networks and applications. The solution accelerated problem detection and reduced mean time to resolution, improved colleague productivity, made in‑store systems more reliable, enabled evidence-based SLA management with third-party providers, and delivered measurable improvements in customer-facing services.
