Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, embarked on an ambitious IT infrastructure transformation to the cloud to increase business agility and reduce costs. To meet this challenge, they partnered with Riverbed and utilized their SteelHead and SteelHead Interceptor solutions to ensure fast and reliable global data access for employees.

Riverbed's solution, including Cloud Steelhead appliances, improved the migration to and performance from an Infrastructure-as-a-Service cloud. This facilitated Schneider Electric's move of servers to an Amazon Web Services virtual private cloud environment, resulting in greater business agility where changes could be addressed in minutes instead of months. The implementation also enabled a "pay as you grow" cloud pricing model that limited expenditures to only the services used.
