Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners avoids 100Mbps Bandwidth Increase and Enhances its Disaster Recovery Solution with Riverbed

Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners (RSHP) is an international architectural practice whose large, linked design files (often tens of gigabytes) are mission‑critical and must be retained for the life of a building. Slow WAN performance made cross‑office collaboration and on‑site work inefficient, and RSHP needed to speed synchronization to its disaster recovery site without increasing bandwidth.

RSHP deployed Riverbed Steelhead WAN‑optimization appliances to reduce CIFS/file latency and accelerate backups. The appliances cut file download times by about 80% (files now open in seconds), restored central file integrity for concurrent collaboration, and enabled NetApp SnapMirror replication over the existing 2Mbps DR link—avoiding a costly 100Mbps upgrade while improving backup and recovery.
