Riverbed virtual application delivery controller brings new life to CareCore National

CareCore National, a healthcare benefits management firm that supports 70 million lives and operates 1,000 call-center agents, experienced rapid growth (500% since 2006) and needed to replace an aging, hardware-based IT stack with a fully virtualized environment while keeping its web portals and applications continuously accessible to partners, employees and customers.

CareCore deployed Riverbed’s Stingray virtual application delivery controller (vADC) on a UCS-based ESX platform with redundant vADCs in two co-located sites, enabling full virtualization, advanced load balancing and traffic management. The solution delivered high availability during traffic spikes, significant cost savings and increased revenue, along with responsive vendor support.
