Aspire.net Legal Services, a division of mindSHIFT Technologies, provides managed IT and hosted server services to law firms and professional services clients in the eastern U.S. The company needed to guarantee consistently high application performance—especially for large files—and maintain service levels during network failures, while also expanding its service footprint beyond its existing geographic limits.

Aspire.net deployed Riverbed Steelhead appliances to optimize WAN performance and resilience. The result: dramatic user gains (large PDFs opened in about 4 seconds instead of ~30), WAN traffic was reduced by roughly half, failovers from 3 Mbps to 500 kbps links were essentially transparent to users, and Aspire.net could reliably serve offices thousands of miles from its data centers.
