A Riverbed Case Study

Preview of the Blach Construction Case Study

Riverbed Steelfusion Helps Blach Construction Provide Cost-Competitive, Technologically Advanced Construction Services to Its Clients

Blach Construction is a mid-sized general contractor based in Silicon Valley and the Central Coast with ~185 employees, delivering office, education, medical and public projects. Its three-person IT team needed to support up to ~40 fluctuating jobsites while rolling out a new ERP/BIM-driven collaboration environment, and faced challenges around jobsite connectivity, data security, disaster recovery, backup growth, hosting decisions and keeping costs low.

Blach deployed Riverbed SteelFusion Core and Edge appliances with BlockStream projected storage and the Virtual Services Platform to centralize servers in a data center while running virtual services locally. The solution restored on‑site application performance, secured critical data off‑site for simpler disaster recovery, reduced hardware and footprint, and enabled better collaboration (including future BIM/3D use) — freeing the IT team to focus on business‑impacting activities.
