Riverbed Makes Application Centralization Work For Aura Light

Aura Light, a Stockholm-based manufacturer of sustainable lighting with about 250 employees and European subsidiaries, centralized its applications in an outsourced datacenter. Remote sites experienced severe latency that made critical systems—ERP, file sharing (large marketing/sales files), Exchange and CRM—slow or nearly unusable, harming productivity and blocking standardized IT rollouts.

Aura Light deployed Riverbed SteelHead WAN optimization (seven appliances) and 50 SteelHead Mobile licenses, with Curitiba handling site installations. The fix halved large file download times, sped logins and email access, raised user satisfaction and productivity, enabled rollout of new applications, and was largely paid for by a 35% reduction in the WAN contract.
