Case Study: Senko achieves 21–38x faster Groupware and 76% WAN traffic reduction with Riverbed SteelHead

A Riverbed Case Study

Preview of the Senko Case Study

Riverbed Enables Global Information Sharing and Collaboration by Accelerating Previously Unusable Groupware

Senko Co., Ltd., a Japanese logistics company with about 400 domestic and 33 overseas locations, faced severe performance issues with its global groupware because many sites were connected over low-bandwidth, high-latency links (128–256 kbps). Slow email and file access made the collaboration platform nearly unusable, blocked standardization across sites, and limited information sharing and productivity.

Senko deployed Riverbed SteelHead EX and SteelHead Mobile with the SteelCentral Controller, accelerating groupware traffic and improving response times by roughly 21–38×. WAN traffic dropped by an average of 76% (up to 88%), the collaboration platform was standardized and widely adopted, network visibility and predictive control improved, and the project delivered an estimated ¥67 million in five‑year savings.
