A Riverbed Case Study
Constangy, Brooks & Smith LLP is a U.S. workplace-relations law firm with 100+ attorneys across 20 offices. The firm faced rising costs and complexity from a decentralized model—mid‑range servers in each branch were aging, backups were unreliable, and efforts to centralize services and add IP telephony were putting heavy strain on the WAN.
By deploying Riverbed SteelHead appliances and the Riverbed Services Platform, Constangy moved to a centralized private cloud, virtualized its data center, and replaced bulky branch servers with compact appliances. The change preserved WAN capacity (no new circuits), improved application performance, eliminated tape backups, cut capital and operating expenses, simplified management, strengthened disaster recovery, and reduced power/cooling needs.
