Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), a leading healthcare system in eastern Pennsylvania with 9,500 employees and a long-standing continuous-improvement initiative, needed to guarantee 100% availability and performance for critical digital systems—electronic medical records, physician order entry, and barcode medication matching—across its wireless network. The I/S team faced lengthy troubleshooting cycles that slowed incident resolution and risked patient care.
LVHN deployed Riverbed SteelCentral AppResponse, Transaction Analyzer, and AppInternals to gain end-to-end visibility from the network to application code. Transaction Analyzer cut troubleshooting time by about 70% and produces automated diagnostic reports in roughly 30 minutes, AppResponse (deployed at the data center, helpdesk, and three hospitals) detects many issues before users are affected and addresses ~90% of performance problems, and AppInternals adds method- and database-level visibility for rapid root-cause analysis of server-side issues.
