A Riverbed Case Study
Le Coq Sportif, a global textile and lifestyle manufacturer with multiple offices and a growing remote workforce, was struggling with slow application performance and very long downloads of large design and PLM files after consolidating applications and centralizing IT. As remote sites grew (for example Paris from 6 to 28 users), WAN transfers could take hours, harming productivity, and bandwidth upgrades were impractical or too costly.
The company deployed six Riverbed Steelhead appliances across sites in France, Spain, Italy and Taiwan to optimize bandwidth and accelerate protocols. Results included file transfers cut from hours to minutes (about 30x faster), near‑LAN performance for edits and retransfers, 65–75% reduction in high‑volume WAN traffic, avoidance of costly bandwidth upgrades, and successful centralization of IT with lower ongoing deployment and management costs.
