Hilson Moran is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with more than 250 staff across the UK and Middle East, delivering high-profile built-environment projects. Hilson Moran deployed Riverbed SteelFusion to virtualize and centralize remote servers at its London head office, with Riverbed SteelHead and SteelHead Mobile to accelerate WAN and remote access; local support was provided via Zycko. The rollout was fast and plug-and-play, and delivered up to 80% improved network efficiency (bandwidth use down to ~20%), dramatically lower backup costs (budgeted ~£60k vs ~£5k spent), reduced branch IT overhead, stronger security, better application performance and improved collaboration and morale—completing stage one of their IT strategy.
