ELARABY Group, a leading Egyptian manufacturer and retailer of consumer electronics with a presence in 60+ countries and more than 40,000 employees, was shifting to a cloud-first strategy and had migrated services to Microsoft Azure and Office 365. The move caused large volumes of Exchange, SAP and collaboration traffic between sites, creating latency, slow Office 365 performance for thousands of users, and rising data transfer costs.
To address this, ELARABY deployed Riverbed solutions — SteelHead appliances (including six new appliances and one Azure instance), Riverbed SaaS Accelerator (3,500 licenses) and Riverbed Cloud Accelerator — to optimize and accelerate traffic and compress SaaS data. The rollout improved Office 365 responsiveness for 6,000 users, cut inter-site data transfer by about 60% (roughly 900 GB less per day), enabled a 50% increase in data transfer capacity without extra cost, and delivered better connectivity, collaboration and cost savings.
