e-TF1 manages TF1.fr, the website for France’s most-watched TV channel, delivering millions of videos monthly and rebranded content for major partners. The site’s mix of news, video streaming and partner portals created heavy, bursty traffic, but e-TF1’s device-level tools gave only a fragmented, device-by-device view, leaving them unable to see real-time site performance, judge ISP peering, respond to traffic surges, or offer reliable SLAs and capacity plans.

e-TF1 deployed the Riverbed AppResponse Xpert appliance on a mirrored switch port to gain real-time, end-to-end visibility into bandwidth, server utilization and user experience. The appliance enabled faster troubleshooting, better load balancing and traffic controls during high-demand events (like the World Cup), improved SLAs for portal customers, clearer ISP performance metrics, and a year’s worth of data for more accurate capacity planning.
