A Riva Case Study
Northeastern U.S. University needed a better way for students to book appointments with advisors and for advisors to manage availability across multiple systems. The university struggled with a custom scheduling approach and Salesforce for Outlook, which caused appointment synchronization problems and excessive cancellation emails. Riva helped the university connect Salesforce and Exchange calendars for its student advisors.
Riva customized its Salesforce and Microsoft Exchange calendar sync to support variable-length appointment blocks, multiple appointment types, recurring and color-coded events, reminders, cancellations, and cross-platform access on Outlook, web, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry devices. The university also built a Visualforce “Day at a Glance” calendar for advisors. As a result, every advisor across the university now uses Riva, adoption tripled, support tickets and phone calls dropped dramatically, and the solution became popular enough that other campus groups wanted to join.
