Better Place Australia, part of the global Better Place electric vehicle services company, needed a more scalable and reliable way to synchronize Salesforce contact and calendar data for executives using BlackBerry devices, desktops, and laptops. Its existing Salesforce Outlook plug-in required installation and management on each device and offered limited CRM synchronization capabilities. Vendor Riva, via Riva Integration Server, was brought in to address these challenges.
Riva implemented a server-level synchronization solution that automatically and transparently connected Salesforce with Microsoft Outlook and BlackBerry devices, as well as other Exchange clients. The setup enabled bi-directional access to Salesforce accounts, contacts, leads, activities, opportunities, quotes, cases, and archived Outlook emails, while features like SmartConvert and AssignTo Drop Folders streamlined email-to-Salesforce capture. As a result, Better Place Australia saw significantly increased user adoption, reduced manual syncing, and a more scalable integration across its teams.
