Red’s Gear, a St. Louis–based sporting goods retailer with extensive marketplace experience, saw an opportunity to grow online sales by selling on the new, price-focused marketplace Jet. Facing the challenge of getting listed at launch and competing on price while protecting margins, Red’s Gear evaluated Jet’s SmartCart/dynamic-pricing model and decided to participate in the platform early.
Using ChannelAdvisor Marketplaces, Red’s Gear entered Jet’s beta and went live on the day of the public launch with a smooth setup. The results were rapid: Jet sales grew over 900% from beta to launch, Jet became Red’s Gear’s third-largest marketplace by GMV within two months, rolling 30‑day sales rose nearly 60%, and about 75% of Jet buyers were new customers—while Jet’s pricing model helped the company improve per-order margins.
