Contorion is a Berlin-based online retailer of professional tools and workshop supplies (founded 2014) offering over 500,000 products across some 150 brands. Early expansion into Amazon and eBay exposed a core challenge: managing roughly 250,000 SKUs at scale—something the team found impossible to maintain manually and beyond the capabilities of many e‑commerce tools.
Since late 2018 Contorion has used ChannelAdvisor Self Service for Marketplaces to automate imports/exports, transform and optimize product and inventory data, reconcile transactions with its ERP, control advertising spend and apply rule-based product publishing. The platform delivered major time savings, enabled Contorion’s marketplace presence, provided detailed reporting and strong account support, and proved highly scalable—facilitating international expansion (e.g., Amazon France) while keeping the company flexible to add or remove brands.
