Haparanda Municipality prepares for NIS2 in 1 year with RISMA Systems

Haparanda Municipality faced the challenge of strengthening its cyber and information security to meet the EU's NIS2 Directive, despite having limited resources and complex operations spanning schools, social services, and infrastructure. To tackle this, the municipality implemented a structured GRC strategy using the platform from vendor RISMA Systems.

RISMA Systems provided a software platform that enabled the municipality to integrate governance, risk management, and compliance. As a result, Haparanda successfully implemented a large part of the NIS2 requirements in one year, built a strong security culture, and became one of the first municipalities in Sweden to conduct systematic supplier audits. The solution provided the tools to manage compliance work efficiently and created a flexible, future-proof foundation for upcoming regulations.
