Wendy’s Links WC Data in Riskonnect to WTW’s Risk IQ to Lower Costs and Boost Safety

Wendy’s, the global restaurant chain with more than 7,000 locations, faced the challenge of unlocking greater value from the extensive workers’ compensation claims data it already held in Riskonnect. Chief Risk Officer Bob Bowman wanted to not only optimize insurance purchasing but also reallocate savings into accident prevention, so Wendy’s connected its Riskonnect RMIS data to WTW’s Risk IQ to drive deeper analytics and actionable insights.

By using Riskonnect’s seamless RMIS integration with WTW’s Risk IQ Workers Compensation Diagnostic model, Wendy’s identified slip-and-trip incidents as roughly 80% of incurred losses and targeted high‑return prevention initiatives at the restaurant level. The Riskonnect-enabled analysis helped Wendy’s shave more than 5% off losses (versus 1–2% from traditional approaches), outperform benchmarks across categories, reduce manual data transfer effort, and make prevention efforts effectively self-funding.
